On Thursday, December 3rd and Friday December 4th, the Junior and Senior Concert and Jazz band, as well as the Funk Band and DTB went to six feeder schools to perform songs they have been practicing throughout the year. Everyone got to the school early in the morning (7:30 on Thursday and 7:45 on Friday) and played at all the schools extremely well.

On December 3rd, the groups performed at W.I. Dick Middle School, followed by Brookville Elementary School, and finally P.L. Robertson. On the 4th, the bands played at Sam Sherratt Public School, then Escarpment View Elementary School, and the last school was Anne J MacArthur. The bands performed some well known songs such as Counting Stars, Accidentally in Love, and Hedwig’s Theme. They also played holiday songs, for example: How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy, and We Three Kings.

Foster’s Funk Band, consisting of extremely talented Grade 10s, did an outstanding job playing Valerie, September, and Superstition. DTB sang their reggae cover of Shake It Off, and Shut Up and Dance, of which they changed the lyrics from “Shut up and dance with me. This woman is my destiny…” to “Take music at MD. This high school is my destiny…”.

Overall, all the groups did a spectacular job of representing Milton District and spreading holiday cheer!
