For a long time, Halloween has been a special day of the year, where we can all break away from the norm and have a day full of horrors and fun. All around MD, students and teachers alike could be seen dressed up in costumes. To celebrate this, the school had a costume contest, organized by the Student Government. It was held during the the Athletics Appreciation assembly, thrown by the SAA.

There were 3 categories; spookiest, best group costume, and most creative. The judging committee consisted of the representatives that each grade had voted on at the beginning of the year. At the end of the assembly, the Prime Minister, Apple Roy, and Deputy Prime Minister, Chloe Umengan introduced the contest and asked everyone to stand up and dance. While everyone was dancing, the judging committee went through the crowd, and selected together their favourite top five nominees from each category. Photos were taken, and put up onto the school twitter page, where students could vote for their favourite nominees. In the Scariest category, Bridget won by 74 votes. In the Creative categories, Post Malone won by 93 votes. In the Group category, Kuzco and Yzma won by 99 votes.
Congratulations to all the winners!
