On Monday, March 19th, Olympian and MDHS graduate, Travis Gerrits returned to his former high school to give an inspiring talk to Mme. Baird’s grade 10 careers class. Travis Gerrits is a freestyle skier who competed in the Sochi 2014 Olympics. As a part of the careers course, guest speakers often come in and give presentations to the students about their success in life; Mme. Baird’s class was lucky enough to get a talk from an Olympian!

Travis Gerrits discussed his success in life and in his sport. He motivated many students with his talk about his success in his field. Travis also gave advice to the class about the importance of balancing work life and personal life. Students loved his talk, had a great time, and left the class feeling inspired.
