One of MDHS’ co-op students was invited to speak at this past Friday’s Breakfast with the Mayors put on by the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC).
Thea Richinson addressed a very prominent crowd of 212 people about their experiences with experiential education and the career coaches evenings. At the Oakville Conference Centre, there were political delegates; School board trustees, directors, industry professionals and partners in experiential learning and pathways. Thea has come a long way this year as they took on a placement at Milton’s local radio station, myFm, where they attend events in the community and report on them, and other stories, as an on-air personality.
Thea will be working with HIEC moving forward as they offer great insight into equity in gender identity and roles in work & education.
