Relay for Life is starting up again this year!

Relay for Life is an event in which students form teams to fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society.

On the day of the event, each team has to have one member walking or running around the track at all times, for the duration of the event.

Lead by Anissa Gandhi and Hiba Bashir, the Relay for Life committee is working hard to make this year’s Relay for Life event one to remember. Weekly meetings are taking place to help plan the event. The committee will be reviewing planning and student satisfaction surveys from last year to make sure that this year’s Relay for Life event is the best it can be!

The committee has several different sub-committees, including entertainment committee, fundraising, and sponsorship. These subcommittees are all lead by different Relay for Life student leaders. This year, the committee hopes to increase the duration of the Relay for Life event to eight hours, as opposed to last year’s six hours. The event is expected to take place from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. in March 2019.

For those who don’t wish to put in the numerous hours and commitment required for the committee, keep in mind that volunteer and participants are also needed to make this event work! Contact a member for more details.
