According to a student attending the McMaster climbing trip this past Friday, “This is going to be the first field trip that isn’t going to suck.”
GLE students recently had the opportunity to be in their “element” at the McMaster Altitude Program. Outdoors all day, with many collaborative, and leadership activities to experience, they put a whole new meaning to Milton District’s motto, Belong. Elevate. Respect.
Each student tried at least one challenge; many trying, failing, and trying again (achieving many personal victories along the way!) to succeed in climbing a tall wooden tower.
This trip brought out the best in them in ways that regular classroom activities couldn’t. Their experiential learning at McMaster will stay with them for many years to come.
