The leaves have gone from green to gold, the temperature is fluctuating like the Behemoth at Wonderland, and plaid has now re-integrated itself into my wardrobe. Fall is here—and that means Halloween is right around the corner.

If you do celebrate Halloween, what you’re going to dress up for Halloween might be an annual struggle. Luckily, I have your back. Here are five Halloween costume ideas for 2018:

  • Fortnite characters
As much as it pains me to say this, Fortnite is definitely one of the most popular searches in terms of Halloween costumes for 2018. So, if you will, wear cargo pants, get some blueprints, and gather your squad. No weapons or face masks though, it’s against school policy. Stay safe!
  • Celebrities
This is a really simple costumes, yet the possibilities are endless! Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Chris Hemsworth, etc. Just be sure to enlist some of your friends as adoring paparazzi!
  • Marvel Superheroes
Ah, Marvel. With the release of the wildly popular Avengers: Infinity War movie, the penultimate beginning-of-the-end Marvel movie released this year, searches for everyone’s favourite childhood superheroes have spiked up. Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor are just a few people you could dress up as. Worst case scenario, sprinkle some baby powder on yourself, keep saying how you don’t feel so well, and call yourself Peter Parker.
  • A Prince/Princess
The British royal family are everywhere in headlines this year, with the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton and Prince William having their third child. So why not live out fairy tale dreams and go all out on a prince or princess costume? Wear a crown and go and scare everyone with your royal awesomeness.
  • A Milton Mustang                                                                                                                        So you want to dress up, but you have no idea what to wear. Why not flaunt some school spirit and dress up as a Milton Mustang? Show off your love from all things horses, blue, and Milton District!

That’s all for now! Don’t worry, MD has loads of events and activities celebrating this week. You can bring in a non-perishable food item to guess the number of candy in the jar by the caf, or dress up for the costume contest on Halloween! There are prizes for the scariest, funniest, the best group costume, and the best teacher costumes. Be good, stay safe, and have fun, MD!
