On October 30th, the Drama classes got the incredible opportunity to attend the Stratford Festival’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird.
The Stratford Festival is a world renowned event, featuring performances from July to October.
40 spots were given to students at MDHS to not only see the play, but also take part in a prologue. After the prologue, students watched the matinee performance of To Kill a Mockingbird, a book many students had previously read.
Students got to meet with the cast of the play backstage and ask any questions they had about acting and performance. They also got to use the stage to practice tableau, a style of performance where a story is told through motionless scenes.
This field trip was an amazing chance for students to see a live theater performance and talk to professional actors about their occupations. Students loved this field trip as it was a great chance to see and experience something they are genuinely interested in.
