Evie Bhasin: Bohemian Rhapsody was, without a doubt, one of the best movies I have ever watched. The acting, the camerawork, the writing—all of it was phenomenal. I usually don’t enjoy biopics, but this one completely blew me away. Rami Malek portrayed Freddie Mercury so perfectly that it was hard to believe it was an actor playing Queen’s lead singer, and not Freddie himself. The way it was filmed was so interesting to watch. I loved how they included some of Queen’s hits, and even some lesser known songs, in the biopic. The pacing was a little strange at first, but then steadied itself out later on. The topics covered in the biopic were also handled pretty well and just the way Freddie would have wanted. I think Freddie would have really, really loved this movie, just as I and many others do. It was an absolutely magnificent watch and I would love to go see it again.
Emma-Grace Callan-Bennink: Bohemian Rhapsody is a fantastic film! Whether you are a fan of Queen or not I genuinely think there’s something for everybody. Rami Malek did an incredible job at playing someone as iconic as Freddie Mercury. This film is amazing at connecting to its audience, there were times when I cried and times when I laughed. I had listened to Queen in my childhood but walking out of the theater I was compelled to listen to more of their music. I’ve gained a new appreciation for their artistry after seeing this movie and knowing the story behind the music. This movie is an 11/10, and I would highly recommend anyone and everyone goes to see this film. I definitely hope to see some nominations for it at The Academy Awards.
Ben Hartshorn: Actor Rami Malek portrayed the character of Freddie Mercury exceptionally well in this movie! The famous singer’s backstory and life rewrote rock as a genre and changed the world with his hit band, Queen. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone—even if you don’t like music, this engaging film is inspiring and wonderful. I recommend watching this movie in theatres. Who knows, you may even find some new songs to listen to along the way!
Iman Kamran: I thought that Bohemian Rhapsody was an emotional and inspirational story that really dug into everyone’s hearts and introduced a totally new genre which I won’t mind listening to! Some of their songs are so iconic that when I watched the movie, I recognized songs such as “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” which I had already listened to but didn’t know they were made by Queen. Over all, the backstory, music and culture was beautiful and I would love to rewatch Bohemian Rhapsody!
Eli Vodarek-Berman: Bohemian Rhapsody lived up to my greatest expectations- as both a movie-goer and a Queen Fan, I found Bohemian Rhapsody to be yet another jewel on Queen’s crown. The performance of actor Rami Malek nailed his role as Freddie Mercury, pinning down his personality and mannerisms to a Tee. Throughout the movie, I was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of some of Queen’s lesser known hits, such as my favorite songs ‘Keep Yourself Alive’ and ‘Seven Seas of Rhye’. All in all, Bohemian Rhapsody made Queen truly slay.
