Thank you to all the staff and students who made Milton District’s Swim to Survive session a successful one from Monday to Wednesday this week.
Swim to Survive teaches the minimum skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. These are expressed in a skill sequence in the Canadian Swim to Survive standard: roll into deep water, tread water for one minute, swim 50 metres.
These grade 9s will be completing a very similar swim test next year if they are attending Wilderness North and are signed up as a swimmer, so this was a great practice round. See you next year at Camp Wanakita!
