Making mental health in schools a priority

Starting this school year, the elementary health and physical education curriculum were changed, requiring all Ontarian school boards to integrate mental health into their courses. Teachers, parents, and students in high schools are also aware of the importance of having mental health education within classrooms and according to Ontario’s Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, the ministry is currently looking for updates to the health and physical curriculum.
