On September 4, MD kicked off the school year with an assembly by Live Different, an organization committed to inspiring people all over Canada and making a difference in people’s lives. The assembly taught students and teachers alike what it meant to better your life and the lives of those around you by becoming the best version of yourself and understanding the importance of showing kindness.

We were able to learn about the first-hand experiences that Live Different had with impacting the mindsets of students and completely changing the lives of people living in developing countries by building homes for them.

During the assembly, we also had the chance to watch videos of Laura Delano, a mental health activist, and Jordin Tootoo, a former hockey player and author who battled with alcoholism, to learn more about their lives and how they were able to turn their lives around for the better.

The Live Different assembly was a definite hit this year and we hope to be able to welcome the team back into our school next year!
