From Friday, September 20, to Friday, September 27, hundreds of thousands of passionate protestors stormed the streets of towns and cities worldwide to fight for policy change in the Global Climate Strike.

During the event last week, Toronto alone saw thousands taking over the downtown core. Activists hoisted up signs, drew murals on the pavement and shouted their lungs out.  This was a nationwide movement; Canadians showed their support in the fight for the planet and their futures across the country.

On the latter Friday of the event, a group of committed students from Milton District High School took part in the strike, marching to Milton’s Town Hall bearing signs and some mighty high enthusiasm.

There they met with Milton MP candidates Eleanor Hayward (Green Party) and Adam van Koeverden (Liberal Party) to discuss climate-related issues affecting our planet and what we can do as students to make our voices heard.
