On October 2, the 24 members of MD’s Cross Country team raced at Kelso Conservation Area during the first meet of the regular season.

From 8 a.m.–3 p.m., the team braved the damp conditions on the muddy course and ended up with outstanding finishes—including some within the top 5.

In the Junior Boys race, Evan Taylor placed 2nd out of 110 competitors—just seven seconds shy of first place!

Meanwhile, in the Senior Girls race, Lauren Bruce placed 4th out of 122 competitors.

Others within the top 30 in their respective races include Jillian Bennet and Morgan White in the Novice Girls, Denver Packalen in the Novice Boys, Nala Elliot in the Junior Girls, and Athena Austen in the Senior Girls.

The next meet takes place on October 10 at Bechtel Park in Waterloo.
