Mustangs experience a day in the life of a university student

On October 10, the Grade 12 Sociology and Law classes had the opportunity to visit the University of Guelph and sit in on an “Intro to Sociology” university lecture along with 200 first year students.

This event helped students understand how university lectures tend to be structured and gave them an insight into how fast-paced lectures can be.

After the lecture, the students were given a piece of paper with several destinations on them and were challenged to find those certain locations and take selfies with them. This helped students explore the campus and understand how it may feel like to be a university student.

Overall, this experience resulted in students understand how being a university student may feel like —many students claimed that they were less stressed about university now that they had had first hand experience in a university setting!
