MD saw yet another successful showcase of student (and teacher!) artistic talent at the 2nd Annual Arts Cafe on November 7.
Act after act of hilarious drama performances, exhilarating live music, and emphatic slam poetry entertained audiences all night long!
The A Capella group kicked things off with an enchanting cover of “We Are Young”.
Then, Amara and Jiya performed a powerful spoken word piece called “Say No”, originally by Olivia Gatwood and Megan Falley.
Music students performed various covers during the event, ranging from “The Hype (Berlin)” by Twenty One Pilots to music from “Life is Beautiful” and “All Laid Back and Stuff” by Andy McKee.
Promotional pieces from MD’s upcoming one-act plays and musical Into The Woods swept the audience away by talented and quick-on-their-feet drama students and Improv Team members.
Meanwhile, student art piece installations adorned the cafeteria, making the air sizzle with creative energy.
Refreshments were also served and attendees had the opportunity to paint on a giant “M” and “D” to serve as a collective keepsake from the show.
The audience enjoyed an eventful night filled with student talent, laughter, harmony, and great vibes. Special thanks to the MCs and all staff who made the night possible.
Be sure to join us at next year’s Arts Cafe!
