For the past two decades, World Cancer Day has been commemorated on February 4 as a way to raise awareness of the suffering and death toll caused by cancer all over the world. The goal of the day is prevention and finding a cure for cancer through public awareness and research.

In 2017 alone, it was estimated that close to 9.6 million people died due to the various forms of cancer. That would mean that every sixth death around the world is due to cancer.

It is important for everyone to educate themselves on the disease and how to prevent getting it, but also how to support the numerous researchers who are trying to find a cure.
