This year due to COVID-19 restrictions the procedure for grad photos is going to look a bit different. The school and studio are still waiting on specific directions from HDSB on how exactly grad photos are going to work this year, but the studio where grad photos are taken has given us some insight into the situation.
The studio is going to increase the days and times available for grad picture appointments with proper social distancing protocols and masks. Students will have timed appointments to allow the staff to disinfect touch surfaces and to allow proper social distancing between appointments. Each student will have to bring their own gown and cap, which they will use once and then rest for a minimum of 24 hours. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no common props available at the studio.
The studio encourages students to bring their own props for their photos but custom sashes with MD’s school colors won’t be available because of the required rest time between uses. Instead the studio will provide students with a generic sash. Students must wear masks when entering and exiting the building but they can be removed during the photo session.
The booking site for appointments is www.bookmygrad.ca. When you book an appointment make sure that you are following the prompts for photos at the Burlington Lab. All appointment bookings must be made online and please keep in mind that the response time may be slower than normal as the studio is working with reduced staff.

If there are no appointment spaces left on a specific day the studio will look at opening for more days during the week and you will be able to make appointments on those days 24 hours after they are arranged. Currently the studio is open during PA days and on Saturdays.
