Evan Taylor claims the title of the 3rd fastest senior boy in Ontario!
Advancing from the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference (GHAC) after winning first place, he headed to Lakefield for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) 2021! With a time of 19:27, he ran 6km with lots of hills and elevation throughout the course. He’s worked incredibly hard day in and day out. According to one of his coaches, his training includes running almost 80-90km per week!
Evan is a very versatile runner. He was able to maintain a speed of about 3:16/km for 6km during the long and treacherous course at OFSAA. Along with his speed, his endurance is unbelievably impressive, running almost 16-18km some days during longer sessions. Evan started taking running seriously in 2020 and since then has made huge leaps of progress. He was 95th at the 2019 Sudbury OFSAA, and in just 2 years he has jumped onto the podium and placed 3rd.
The race was very interesting to watch with Evan consistently being in the top 5. In the last 1km, he had a huge burst of speed overtaking 2 of the racers and finishing on the podium.
Evan also played rep soccer throughout his youth, showing his consistent activeness and athleticism. Currently, he is part of the Burlington Track and Field club and helps coach young runners.
We are extremely proud of Evan for representing Milton District High School and bringing home the bronze medal!
