A week into this change and the face of Milton District High School is looking different. Ontario has loosened its COVID-19 health restrictions and dropped its mask mandate, but what are the Mustangs’ thoughts on this significant change that has been a part of our lives for two years?
Roger Kiritharan
– How do you feel about the lifting of the mask mandate?
– “I don’t mind them removing the mandate but I feel like if you want to wear a mask you should be allowed to”
– Why are/aren’t you wearing a mask?
– “Because I am comfortable in it and it’s my choice”
Shaheer Khan
– How do you feel about the lifting of the mask mandate?
– “Great, I feel like it can allow us to choose what we wear gives us more freedom within the school”
– Why are/aren’t you wearing a mask?
– “Because I feel like sometimes I would randomly lose my breath and when I don’t have a mask on I could breath better”
Ansh Maru
– How do you feel about the lifting of the mask mandate?
– “I feel it is good the only problem is that they should have waited until it cases plateaued but it’s still good”
– Why are/aren’t you wearing a mask?
– “Mostly because I found it really hard to breath and I can speak better”
Areeb Ahmed
– How do you feel about the lifting of the mask mandate?
– “I think that it was a bit too early should have waited another week because people just came back from March break”
– Why are/aren’t you wearing a mask?
– “Just to be safe”
Whether the Mustangs are wearing masks or not, the downfall of COVID-19 has left an undeniable impact on students across the province. What’s important is that our students are respecting each other’s decisions, creating a positive, safe environment.
