OFSAA Swimming

On February 28th and March 1st MDHS’ swim team competed in this year’s OFSAA competition in Windsor.

On day one, our MD athletes had various highlights. The girls’ 200 metre medley placed 27th out of 48th schools.  Addison Bown placed 37th in her 100 meter backstroke, having a best time of 1:15.89. Max Grochev placed 40th overall in his 100 meter backstroke, recording a best time of 1:16.73. Drew Emmerton placed 25th overall in his 50 meter freestyle with a best time of 25.87 AND placed 12th overall in his 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:10.05. Wow, that’s a lot for one day!

On day two, our MD boys 400 meter freestyle went to the finals and placed 13th overall in Ontario with a best time of 4:04:26. 

Overall, our swimmers did amazing this season! It is clear their hard work and dedication paid off. Special thanks to coaches Ms. Cameron and Ms. Van Ravens for their tireless work this year.
