Protected time starts in June, so there was a lot to report in regards to athletics during the week of May 28th. Here are the highlights of the week.

Ultimate Frisbee Wins Silver at South Regionals OFSAA

The ultimate frisbee team at MDHS has no doubt been a group of superstars this year. They have had several victories including this impressive second place at OFSAA on Monday. Congratulations to everyone involved with the team.

Athletes of the Month Announced

The athletes of the month were selected, and they include the following students:

• Amy Boonstra (Rugby)
• David Ribeiro & Brooklyn Ryder (Frisbee)
• Brody English (Flag Football, Baseball & Frisbee)
• Ella Kubas (Track & Field)
• Avi Roy (Soccer)

Track and Field Athlete of the Month Wins Gold

MDHS Track and Field team’s Ella Kubas had a gold medal finish in the senior girls 3000m during day two of South Regionals. Ella was also awarded one of the athletes of the month. This is the fourth and final year that she will be playing for MDHS, so a special congratulations goes out to her.
