Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By Prema Kapoor

Did you know that one in nine Canadian women will have breast cancer at some point in their lives?

In Canada, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is celebrated to not only raise awareness, but to take action against breast cancer.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s main goal is to help those affected by breast cancer through education, early detection and a variety of support services. While the NBCF has done so much already to help women affected by breast cancer, they can’t do it alone, which is why they’re calling on you.

You can either donate directly to the foundation, or fundraise to help gain support. With your help, the lives of many women will become a lot easier.
