From September 21st – 23rd, Milton had it’s annual Fall Fair. The Fall Fair is an amazing event that is held every year. It was a lively celebration featuring traditional fall fair events like horse shows, pet shows, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derby, as well as many games and thrill rides. The event was located on the Milton Fair Grounds, though all you had to do to find it was follow the sweet smell of cotton candy or the sounds of farm life.
The event was sponsored by the Halton Agricultural Society, which was formed in March 1853. Through the years, with roots reaching back to 1853, the concept of the Milton Fall Fair has surprisingly remained relatively unchanged, despite massive changes to community and society in general. The first fall fair was held in October 1854 and since then there have been many changes, yet the main goal of bringing farm life into the city, in order to educate people where their food comes from has not changed. It was an amazing experience and I absolutely recommend going next year!
